GUIDE: LOCATING THE COMMUNITY FOLDER

In your MSFS installation directory, you’ll find a Community folder. To ensure your addon shows up in the game, it’s crucial to place it in the Community folder.  Here’s where you would typically find it for PC platforms:

MICROSOFT STORE
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

STEAM
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community

Still having trouble finding your Community folder?

Here’s a step-by-step guide for locating it:

STEP ONE
From the MSFS homepage, navigate to the Options menu.

STEP TWO
In the Options menu, click on General Options.

STEP THREE
Next, open the “Developers” menu.

STEP FOUR
Turn Developer Mode On, then click Apply and Save. You should see a grey panel appear on top.

STEP FIVE
On the Developer panel, click on “Virtual File System” under “Tools”.

STEP SIX
Open the “Package Folders” menu, and click on “Open Community Folder”.

FINAL STEP
This will now open the Community folder in file explorer. Take a note of this file directory and navigate to it in your installer. Your addon should now install correctly.
