May 14th 2025 - Development Update
Edited 15th May 2025
DEVELOPMENT TIMELINE
Since our last update in March, development on the MBB Bo 105 CBS-5 has continued with some issues, and we’re currently about 10 days behind schedule. Balancing academic responsibilities, personal commitments, and development has proven to be a real challenge, especially during a busy exam period. Our target for project completion is June 5th 2025, with release in the following week. We’re happy to report that modelling, texturing, and animations are nearly complete, while work on the XML coding and decalling is in progress.
We also want to clarify a change in our release plans: this product will not be marketplace-exclusive. Instead, the helicopter will also be released our own website store in addition to the marketplace. The price will be $19.99 on the marketplace, and $17.99 when purchased directly from our website store.
Originally, we had planned to showcase the custom Wwise sounds in this post. However, due to the delay mentioned previously, we now expect to highlight the sounds in our next update, which we hope to publish sometime next week. Finally, testing is scheduled to begin in parallel with ongoing development starting May 20th. We're currently looking for support in testing the product, if you're interested in joining our test team, please apply here.
IN-GAME SCREENSHOTS
We had planned to include new in-game screenshots in this update, but the project isn’t quite at the state we’re aiming to showcase, just yet. Just a few textures to patch, and we should be there.
This post will be updated soon to showcase in-game screenshots.
Extremely sorry for the disappointing news!
CONFIGURATIONS
At launch, the Bo 105 will include four landing gear configurations, allowing players to tailor their experience to their environment and operation:
Standard Landing Gear - The classic configuration for general-purpose use.
High Clearance Landing Gear - Ideal for rougher terrain and bush operations, offering improved ground clearance.
Snow Skids - Designed for snowy or icy environments (As requested by @benimix9965, to be modelled).
Snow Boots / Bear Claws - Enhance landing stability in deep snow or soft terrain (As requested by @groschi112, to be modelled).
In addition to landing gear options, each variant can be customised with modular exterior equipment, giving players even more flexibility:
Side-Mounted Camera (cosmetic only)
Smoke System (functional)
Wire Strike Protection System (cosmetic only)
It’ll be possible to equip the high landing gear configuration with the camera, smoke system, and wire strike protection system - all at the same time - if that’s your jam. In total, 4 landing gear configurations and 3 exterior modifications gives rise to 32 different possible configurations!
LIVERIES
We’re excited to offer a variety of liveries for the Bo 105 at launch, and we want your input! To make sure we include the liveries that the community is most excited about, we’ve created a dedicated channel in our Discord server, #bo105-livery-requests. Please head over to the channel and share your livery requests. Once we gather all the submissions, we will shortlist them and create a final list of liveries to be included upon launch. The final list will be locked by May 20th, so be sure to get your requests in soon!
VOLATION PARTNERSHIP
We’re excited to announce our partnership with Volation, a company that emerged in 2020 to meet the growing demand for legitimate and knowledgeable support in marketing and managing aircraft and parts transactions globally. Their resources from past Bo 105 sales provided us with crucial reference images and detailed insights that are essential in ensuring accuracy and authenticity. Without their support, the level of detail we’ve achieved in this project wouldn’t have been possible. As a token of our appreciation, we will also be offering a custom Volation-themed livery for the Bo 105, available as a free download exclusively on our website store at launch.
LATER THIS MONTH
We’ll be back with another update around May 22nd, where we’ll cover the latest progress, including the custom Wwise sounds, final livery selections, decalling work, and all other exciting developments. Stay tuned for more details as we approach the final stages of this project!
